Keith Bond is our resident pro tipster here at FRT Towers. He's been studying the cards, form, stats, trends and more for the Silver Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot, and here's his thoughts ahead of the race:

2020 Tips

Consolation race for the Royal Hunt Cup later on the card. There are 24 runners declared and it will be a veritable cavalry charge. Being a new race we need to rely heavily on the parent race but with the lower framing of the race, highest OR 13lb below the Royal Hunt Cup, things are certain to pan out differently. One thing this race may do is give jockeys an indication of which part of the track is favoured.

Leading contenders include OUZO, MAYDANNY, PRECEDENTIAL, ALTERNATIVE FACT and NICHLAUS. I am a long way to deciding which of the two dozen I favour.

Keith's final choice

13:15 ZHUI FENG 20/1 each way – Absolute cavalry charge to kick off the day and it will be no surprise if there is a big odds winner. ZHUI FENG is looking well handicapped on his best form and from his high draw, he could grab the rail and make all.

How it fared

I nailed the draw in the first and ZHUI FENG lead as expected but was one of the first to be off the bridle. He soon faded out of contention.
