What's Keith's Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap Tips for Royal Ascot?

W been studying the cards, form, stats, trends and more for the Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap at Royal Ascot, and here's our thoughts ahead of the race:

The Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes looks set to be another hugely competitive sprint event and Equality leads the betting following two encouraging performances on the AW.

Boomshalaa hacked up in class 5 novice event at the end of May and having beaten 14 other rivals, connections will be confident of a big race.

Karl Burke’s Significantly has twice finished runner-up in decent events and will be hoping to build upon those recent outings. Although the majority of his victories have been at a lower level, Mo Celita’s form is enviable, and he will be looking to win six on the bounce. He’s versatile ground-wise and could be one to watch.

However, Warrior Brave could be the best option. He followed up his victory in the Gusbourne Handicap with a close second in the Scurry at Sandown. Having taken on listed rivals that day, he will fancy his chances against this batch of runners.

On the day:

BEDFORD FLYER 6.10 – Ascot (20/1 each way) – Bagged 3 nurseries in 2020 and impressed when burning up the Knavesmire in 5f handicap last month under this rider, drawing clear from Nomadic Empire. Respected and should go well again now up 7 lb.

Top three-year-old sprint handicappers. One thing is for certain ones the gates open they won’t be hanging about, expect the race to be run at a blistering pace and if the conditions are right that 5-furlong record time for three-year-olds could be in danger. Leading contenders are ART POWER, WILL TO WIN, MAYSTAR and GOLDEN DRAGON.

Keith's final choice

13:15 ART POWER 9/4 – [Impressive winner over 6f on opening day at Newcastle. Expected to be aimed at the 5f sprint at RA.] Well drawn and will handle the going. KEEP BUSY looks the type to go well too and could run into a place.

How it fared

ART POWER WON 6/4 – GETTTTT INNNNN very classy win by 4½ lengths made the rest look ordinary. KEEP BUSY ran on to take second.
