What's Our King George V Stakes Tips for Royal Ascot?
We've been studying the cards, form, stats, trends and more for the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot, and here's our thoughts ahead of the race:
Another competitive 3-year old handicap awaits on day 3. The King George V Stakes looks set to be another hugely tricky renewal and a number of promising crop of youngsters are set to take to the Berkshire turf.
Roger Varian’s Nagano has been extremely well-backed in the build up to this event and he will be hoping to build upon a recent AW victory at Newcastle. The Varian stable have a strong hand and they also saddle second-favourite Title.
Charlie Appleby’s Siskany may only have beaten a small field at Sandown recently, however, it was a convincing victory and if he’s in the same mood, he could be difficult to stop.
Of the Aidan O’Brien pair at the top of the betting, it’s Sir Lamorak who could be the best option as he beat some decent rivals at Leopardstown at the beginning of April and has lack of action subsequently would suggest that connections have been waiting for the perfect opportunity for this speedy colt, who is sired by Camelot.

On the day:
LORD PROTECTOR 5.35 – Ascot (25/1 each way) – Unbeaten in 3 starts, namely 2 novices and a handicap. Clear with another progressive type at Salisbury last time out and should have more to come.
Stats of note: All of the last twelve winners carried 9st 1lb or less. Draw – Nine of the last twelve winners have been drawn in between stalls 8 and 18.
There are 18 declared for this middle distance handicap and it is a good opportunity to pick up a winner at a double-figure price, there are plenty of opportunities to pick up a loser too. Hughie Morrison's KIPPS heads the market but many of these merit consideration and life is too short to list them all.
Keith's final choice
14:25 BODYLINE 10/1 each way – Stayed on well at Yarmouth on reappearance and this extra two furlongs should play to his strengths.
How it fared
BODYLINE – Held up at the rear, made good progress late on staying on into sixth.
To be certain of getting Keith's final thoughts on every Royal Ascot race, make sure you have joined the FRT VIP Club.
This is what Keith said about the 2019 King George V Stakes:
Keith’s selection for the King George V Stakes was SINJAARI, a slim each way chance at 6/1 when advised.
What our members tipped in the King George V Stakes
Each day we ask our members to select their Pick 6, their NAP for each race of the day. We then collate all the picks, and present the top selections to our VIP members. Our member's picks for the King George V Stakes:
Race Six | 5:35pm – King George V Stakes
Three horses all in the thick of it here but FIRST LIGHT gets the first spot with 12.9%.
SISKANY and SIR LAMORAK just behind on 12.4% each. JUST FINE the best of the rest.
It’s Kipps that pips it here with 18.5% of the selections and Bright Melody in 2nd place with 17%. The John Gosden trained To Nathaniel had a fair bit of early support, so worth a mention as an Each Way option if you fancy.
Neck and neck in the final race between Sir Ron Priestley and Constantinople with 16.9% of the vote apiece. Sinjaari the nearest contender.
