Royal Ascot Day 1 Tips

Royal Ascot gets underway on Tuesday 14th June 2022 at Ascot Racecourse in Surrey.  This in our opinion is the finest day of racing in the whole of Royal Ascot.  Not only do we have 3 Group 1 races (out of the seven race card) but we have some of the best horses racing to look forward to on the first day of racing.

The quality of the racing is only surmounted by the quality of those attending, with the most noteable being the Queen.   The first race of the day is the the Queen Anne Stakes which starts after all of the Pomp and pagentry of the arrival of the Royal Family at 2.30pm .

The feature race of the day is Race 3, the King's Stand Stakes at 3.40pm.  It's a 5 furlong sprint race and has the prize fund of around half a million pounds!

The next race is another Group 1 race, the St James' Palace Stakes which too is set to be a fantastic race for watchers everywhere.

The last race of Royal Ascot Day 1 is at 6.10pm and is the Copper Horse Handicap, a flat handicap race to round off a brilliant day of horse racing.
