It's the 5th November and the weights have just been published, there are still 37 horses declared for the race and a maximum of 20 wil run on the day so there is a chance that some of the horses on this shortlist will not make it to the post on the day.

I have three that tick a fair few boxes. I will start with the Paul Nicholls trained SOUTHFIELD STONE who landed a Novice Chase over Course and Distance on 24th October and seems very faily trated by the handicapper. GOOD BOY BOBBY from the Nigel Twiston Davis yard is a front runner that can run a big race here especially if the going turns up soft on the day. Completing my three against the field is  Alan King inmate FIDUX who brings some solid handicap form to the table.

11th November update of those mentioned earlier only FIDUX is still in the race and he remains on the shortlist, key stats are a low weight and aged between 7 and 9 so we can add THE RUSSIAN DOYAN, COOLE CODY and SKY PIRATE to the list. All four are currently 16/1 plus so there is every chance of getting a decent odds winner.

How did we do?

FIDUX was declared a non-runner when the Cheltenham going turned to soft.

Keith's Tip on the day:

COOLE CODY 14:15 Cheltenham 18/1 each way – Progressive over fences can put up a good show.

COOLE CODY took up the running at the third fence and proceded to dominate from the front and despite a few mistakes along the way won fairly comfortably giving us a double figure winner. SKY PIRATE was eased into the race and was second when a mistake two out winded him and he faded to 5th. THE RUSSIAN DOYAN was a close second between the 10th and 12th fences but a mistake there put him out of contention and he pulled up two from home.
