This week’s Notebook includes a horse that won at the Cheltenham festival last year and is hitting form at just the right time to defend his crown in eight weeks time.
There were no runners for the Notebook in the past seven days.
Since July 2019, My Notebook has thrown up 64 selections, of which 28 have won, leading to a BOG profit of 42.47 points. You can see the full results, including every previous Notebook horse here.
Here are the Notebook horses which have caught my eye recently.
FILOU DES ISSARDS – Led, and probably would have won but for a few novicey errors, narrowly headed when awkward at the last, kept on, 2nd by ¾ length. Going the right way and will be winning in maiden or novice company sooner rather than later.
MARCELLA DES VEGA – Big improvement stepped up to 1m 4f at Wolverhampton only beaten a neck by massive odds on favourite (1/5). Five lengths clear of the third home. Should progress again. Will be hard to beat next time if kept at this course and distance.
FRODON – Made all in the Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton, and found plenty to get back to winning ways. Was well on top at the finish. On this form he is is expected to try and retain the Ryanair Crown at this years Cheltenham festival. Currently he is vying for favouritism at around 7/1 for that race.
CHOSEN HOUR – Left previous form behind when very easy winner of a begginers chase at Punchestown. Led after 2 out and drew clear by 29 lengths. This was his longest trip sine his point to point days and he gave the impression that he will be even better if stepped up to 3m+.
