Hi Everyone
We have a bumper Notebook this week, that is why it is a day late as has taken a while to compile.
Since last week there have been five Notebook Horses but three of them disappointed in the 2000 Guineas and we had one winner OXTED at 7/2 who is one of my horses to follow on the flat selections for this season and should be running at Royal Ascot next week.
There are a massive nine new horses on the list this week.
New Notebook Horses
LIGHTNESS – Only beaten a short head over 1m 2f at Kempton and was 2½ lengths clear of the third. Gosden trained and owned by the Queen she could be a royal runner for Royal Ascot.
BRUNCH – Good acceleration for a comfortable hands and heels win at Newcastle. Is the type to run up a sequence.
MALOTRU – Unlucky in a Group 3 at Newcastle. met trouble in running and just failed. Would have won with a clear run.
PLANTADREAM – 11/2 bonus tip winner for the FRT VIP Club. Ran like a dream and absolutely scooted away from the field. Will follow up if the handicapper isn't too harsh.
WEST END CHARMER – Quickly out of the stalls and proceeded to make all winning easily. Is likely to be stepped up to Listed class.
RUN WILD – Dominated from the front over 1m 2f at Newmarket. Holds an entry for the Oaks but John Gosden says that is unlikely as the extra 2 furlongs won't suit her. So her options are likely to be elsewhere possibly Goodwood.
FINEST SOUND – First ever winner for the team of Simon and Ed Crisford. Took keen hold, tracked leaders on inner, smooth headway 3f out, led 2f out, shaken up over 1f out, quickened and went clear final 110yds, comfortably. Expected to be tried at a higher level.
SCEPTICAL – Entered the picture for the Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot with a comprehensive drubbing of a decent field at Navan where he galloped clear before crossing the line eased down. Currently, 3/1 second-favourite for the Ascot race and Frankie Dettori has been booked to ride.
BUCKHURST – Bonus tip for us when just failing to get up by the smallest of margins in a Listed race at Navan. Is sure to strip fitter for the run and Group race glory is on the cards before the end of the season.
Notebook Runners Since last week
OXTED – WON 11/2 – Won by a length at Newmarket comfortably enough. Holds a Kings Stand entry. Stays in the notebook
WENTWORTH FALLS – Looked like the run was needed when 4th of 8 at Newmarket.
WALDKONIG – Only 3rd in over 1m 2f and likely to sidestep the Derby now. Probably will be better at 1m 4f – Stays in the Notebook.
KINROSS – Out of depth in the 2000 Guineas when 6th of 15 likely to be dropped in class and upped in trip.
AL SUHAIL – Out of depth in the 2000 Guineas when 14th of 15 likely to be dropped in class and upped in trip
