The Fairlawne Chase is run under the sponsor's name The Paddy Power Handicap Chase is scheduled as the feature race for the New Years Day Meeting at Cheltenham.

For 2022, the race is on Saturday 1st January getting underway at 1.55pm

The race was established in 1990 as the Cleeve Hill Handicap Chase but was officially changed in 2014 to the Fairlawne Chase and was upgraded to Grade 3 status in 2009.
