When is The Henry VIII Novices Chase 2021?

The Planteur at Chapel Stud Henry VIII Novices’ Chase takes place on Saturday 4th December 2021 with the race starting at 1.50pm during The Tingle Creek Christmas Festival at Sandown Racecourse.

This is a Grade 1 race run over 1 mile and 7 and a half furlongs.  It is open to horses aged fours years and over.  It's promotion to grade 1 status occured relatively recently in 2011.

Last year's winner took home prize money of £25628.

Paul Nicholls is the leading trainer for the Henry VIII Novices Chase having trained 7 winners (since 1997).  Leading Jocky is AP McCoy who has won the race 3 times (1997, 1998 and 2009).
