In fact, this month's leaderboard was a bit of a rarity.
All three of our best-performing horse racing tipsters finished August with more than 100pts profit.
Breaking through the 100-point barrier in a single month takes some doing, so having three different services manage it made the battle for top spot particularly competitive.
But there could only be one winner.
So, after crunching the numbers, here are our best horse racing tipsters for August 2026, ranked by points profit.

Taking third place for August is Each Way Morning Tips, after an excellent month produced a total profit of 108.38pts.
As the name suggests, this is a service that isn't afraid to look beyond the obvious favourites and hunt for each-way opportunities.
That approach certainly paid off throughout August, with enough profitable selections across the month to comfortably break through the 100-point barrier.
In plenty of months, a return of +108.38pts would have been enough to challenge for the number-one spot.
This time, however, it only earns the bronze medal – which tells you something about the strength of August's top three.

2. Underdog Racing – 114.31pts profit
August profit: +114.31pts
Just edging into second place is Underdog Racing, finishing the month with an impressive 114.31pts profit.
It was close between second and third, with fewer than six points eventually separating Underdog Racing and Each Way Morning Tips.
But +114.31pts was enough to secure the silver medal and make Underdog Racing one of only three services on our roster to finish August more than 100pts ahead.
For anyone who regularly follows these monthly rankings, the name might also be familiar.
Underdog Racing has produced some eye-catching results before, and August provided another excellent month to add to the record.

1. The Profit Rocket – 135.89pts profit
August profit: +135.89pts
Taking the number-one spot and earning the title of our best-performing horse racing tipster for August 2026 is The Profit Rocket.
And it took an outstanding result to do it.
The Profit Rocket finished August with a huge 135.89pts profit, putting more than 20pts between itself and its nearest challenger.
Interestingly, this isn't a service that has suddenly appeared from nowhere either. Other current independent tipster comparisons also rank The Profit Rocket highly based on its wider record, although different sites naturally use different methodologies and time periods when assessing tipsters.
For our purposes, though, August is what matters.
And with +135.89pts on the board, The Profit Rocket was the clear winner.

So, after an unusually profitable month at the top of our leaderboard, the final standings are:

2nd – Underdog Racing: +114.31pts
3rd – Each Way Morning Tips: +108.38pts
That's a combined 358.58pts profit between August's top three.
More importantly, all three managed the unusual feat of exceeding 100pts profit within the same calendar month.
Of course, one profitable month doesn't tell you everything about a horse racing tipster.
Results can fluctuate considerably, which is why we prefer to keep tracking performance over time rather than judging a service based on one big winner or one particularly good spell.
Past performance also can't guarantee future results.
But these monthly rankings give us a useful snapshot of which horse racing tipsters are currently performing best, and August certainly produced some standout numbers.

Who will be September's best horse racing tipster?
August has certainly set a high bar!
With three services clearing 100pts profit, September's contenders have plenty to live up to.
We'll be tracking the results throughout the month before returning with another top three to see whether The Profit Rocket can hold onto the number-one spot, or whether another of our tipsters can knock it off the top.

How do we choose our best horse racing tipsters?
We follow a roster of professional horse racing tipsters rather than relying on one individual service.
That allows us to compare their results and see which tipsters are producing the strongest returns each month.
Profit is the main metric we're looking at for these monthly rankings, measured in points rather than pounds so that services can be compared without somebody's individual staking level distorting the numbers.
It also means we're able to show the good months alongside the bad ones.
That's important.
No horse racing tipster wins all the time, and even successful services will experience losing runs. Anyone evaluating a tipping service should therefore look beyond a handful of recent winners and consider its wider results.
