Love it or hate it Ascot’s Shergar Cup on Saturday was a very entertaining afternoon of racing but it is not a meeting for picking out horses for the Notebook but thankfully there were a few runners at the other meeting which caught my eye.
Our latest Notebook runner HE’S A KEEPER won nicely at Haydock on Friday.
Here are the Notebook horses which have caught my eye recently.
Horses will be removed from the list either once they have won or if they have run three times or after 30 days of inactivity comes first.
So long as you are subscribed to one of our lists you will be informed when the “Notebook” horses next run and my opinion of their chances.
Friday 9th August
GRIMSDYKE – Second at Thirsk in a race where horses that raced standside were 1st, 3rd and 4th, GRIMSDYKE was head and shoulders above the opposition that raced down the cenre of the course and it is likely with a better draw he would have won this race going away.
Saturday 10th August
RAVENSCAR – Ran a good race when runner up at Redcar keeping on well and is certain to progress.
PONDUS – Progressive three year old filly who took a step forward at Haydock getting to just over two lengths behind the classy ADDEYBB who had her favoured going.
GRACEFUL LADY – Impressive winning by six lengths at Newmarket. Two miles is her trip and if turned out again over the same trip quickly she is likely to follow up.
