There’s a busy afternoon of racing taking place tomorrow and we’re going to run through some of the highlights for you here in this article.
3.15 Wincanton – StanJames.com Elite Hurdle (Grade 2)
This Grade 2 hurdle will be one of the feature races of the day and eight horses will compete over one mile and seven furlongs on Good to Soft ground. There’s £60,000 in prize money up for grabs.
Heading the betting right now is Zarib for Dan and Harry Skelton and this horse can be backed at 5/2.
This four-year-old is sure to have improved during the summer and grown up a bit and he could take plenty of beating. The yard continues to go in good form and is a course and distance winner, albeit when a 1/4 favourite.
All Yours comes next in the betting at 3/1 for Paul Nicholls and Sam Twiston Davies and was a winner at Aintree when last seen. He was impressive on that day and like the favourite, should’ve improved over the favourite.
Irving is a 4/1 shot and has the class needed to take this, but has been frustrating to follow and we’ll have to hope that Nicholls has him back in fine form here as he was pulled-up when last seen at Aintree. Nick Schofield gets on well with the seven-year-old though and he might be a good price.
Francis Of Assisi has done nothing wrong in his short career so far and is at 6/1/ you then have Melodic Rendezvous at 10/1 and it’s 16/1 and over bar these.
We’ll take a chance that Nicholls has IRVING back in good shape here as if he’s near his best, he should take all of the beating.
3.30pm Doncaster – Betfred November Handicap
It’s the final day of the Flat season tomorrow as well and the November Handicap is the final big race of the 2015 campaign. One mile and four furlongs is the trip here and as many as 23 runners will head to post.
We don’t have much of a fancy in this one, but if we were to back one, it would be ESTEAMING at a nice each-way price.
This horse is off a decent mark now and will be fine in these conditions. The horse was beaten in the race last season, but is now five pounds lower than that mark. He could be a decent price.
2.30 Aintree – Betfred Hurdle
Quite possibly the most interesting race of the day, although not much of a betting encounter is this race from Aintree.
We see the return of the excellent Simonsig here, who hasn’t been see since winning the Arkle at Cheltenham back in 2013 and is the 6/4 favourite here. You’re guessing that the horse has the same ability if you’re taking that sort of price and it’s really not one to go mad over.
The nine-year-old will be aimed at going over fences in time of course as that’s where he is best, but he will need this run and it’ll be interesting to see how he goes over hurdles.
Purple Bay is the 2/1 second favourite and it’s then 4/1 about Commissioned. Royal Boy returns from a break too for Rebecca Curtin and Paul Townend and is at 8/1, whereas the 2013 Gold Cup hero Bobs Worth is a 10/1 shot.
All of these have question marks over them and it’s a race to get the notebook out, rather than some cash.
Have a great Saturday and enjoy the racing!
