Friday 10th October, 3.10pm, Newmarket
The Dubai Dewhurst Stakes is one of the feature races coming from Newmarket tomorrow. This is a Group 1 held over seven furlongs and it’s open two-year-olds.
We look set to see a superb battle here between Air Force Blue and Emotionless and these two horses dominate the market right now.
Air Force Blue has been backed into favoritism as this horse is now at 5/4 for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore, who took the Fillies’ Mile on Friday with the outstanding Minding.
This horse was seriously impressive when winning a Group 1 at the Curragh last time out and that was the second Group 1 success for this horse.
The form in the book is rock solid as Air Force Blue has had horses such as Washington DC, Herald The Dawn and Buratino behind recently.
O’Brien seems to have his yard in cracking form at the moment and Moore will be confident of a big run from this two-year-old.
If Air Force Blue is proven, then it’s all about potential for the 11/8 shot Emotionless, who has been seen on two occasions so far and couldn’t have been anymore impressive than when winning the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last time out.
That was the sort of performance to make you sit back and take note as Charlie Appleby’s charge had some quality horses in behind and made them look average.
The race looks to concern these two horses as Massaat is at 16/1, with Sanus Per Aquam and Tashweeq both at 20/1. It’s 50/1 for Adventurous and 80/1 about Twin Sails.
We think this is a battle between the top two in the market and would side with AIR FORCE BLUE to get the better of Emotionless. It does look to be one of the races of the season and let’s hope these two pull clear. We just feel as though Moore and O’Brien hold all the cards here and expect Air Force Blue to head to the top of the 2,000 Guineas market after this race.
