The third race on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival is the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle.
This is a three-mile contest for novice hurdlers and it can be one of the toughest races of the week. You need a horse with plenty of stamina to take this.
Gordon Elliot has had a fantastic week and has the favourite here in the shape of Death Duty. If you fancy backing this horse sign up to 888sport here and you can get Enhanced Odds of 11/1 – check it out here!
This horse has looked really impressive this campaign with four straight wins and he bolted up at Naas when last seen in January.
A couple of months off the track will have suited the horse you’d think and he is the one to beat here.
Good ground is an unknown and the horse hasn’t run over three miles, but Elliot seems incredibly confident that this is the trip he wants.
Augusta Kate can be backed at 13/2 here for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh.
This six-year-old was right up alongside Death Duty last time out, but fell at the final flight and it is unknown how close she would have got.
The mare gets weight from her rivals and does look to have plenty of stamina. We don’t really know how good she is but 13/2 could be a big price.
Wholestone is the best of the British horses here and Nigel Twiston-Davies’ runner has a huge chance here at 15/2.
He has won over the course and distance and seems to love it here at Cheltenham. Daryl Jacob has had a frustrating week but this would be one of his best chances.
Monalee was second to Death Duty a couple of starts ago but since then has won at three miles since then and bolted up on that day.
He could improve some more here and is an 8/1 shot.
You then have The Worlds End at 10/1 for Adrian Heskin and Tom George. This horse bolted up at Haydock last time and is another to not have any stamina doubts.
You can get 14/1 about Penhill and Constantine Bay is at 20/1 for Nicky Henderson.
This six-year-old has won three from three this campaign and won on good ground at Doncaster last time out. He is still very much unexposed and could improve plenty. The price could be big about this horse.
It’s then 25/1 Any Drama and Ami Desbois and 33/1 and over for the rest of the field.
Joe’s tip(s) for this race: [mepr-show if=”rule: 75342″] Death Duty is the most likely winner here but I wouldn’t back a horse in the Albert Bartlett at that price. Constantine Bay will do for me at a huge price.[/mepr-show] [mepr-active rule=”75342″ ifallowed=”hide”] Joe’s tips are only available to Premium Tip members and above – You can join one of our services (including the FREE Premium Tip) here… [/mepr-active]
